• To maintain quality of services onboard trains, IRCTC has set up control rooms at New Delhi , Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Secunderabad. These Zonal Controls have been strengthened and equipped with phone, fax & PC with broadband connectivity, and are operational around the clock, seven days a week. Central Control office at New Delhi regularly coordinates with all the five zonal offices for effective monitoring of the complaints & catering activities.

•  A toll free no. 1800-111-139 has been launched for swift redressal of complaints & suggestions conveyed by passengers on phone. Passengers can call this no. from train as well without any charges & register their grievance/suggestion.

•  In order to facilitate another option of lodging complaint/suggestion by passenger, facility of receipt of complaint through SMS on phone number 9971-111-139 has been started. This will enable the traveling passengers to have easy access to the complaints redressal system without any other charges.

•  Quality Control Professionals having Diploma/Degree holders in hospitality with 2 or more years of field experience were inducted/engaged in August, 2008 & posted in Zonal & Regional offices. Specific trains have been allotted to them for achieving overall improvements in on board services.

HOW CAN I BOOK MEALS THROUGH WEBSITE?

Any passenger having valid reservation ticket can book the meal through website. The process of booking is as under: –

  • On the homepage www.ecatering.irctc.co.in, enter the PNR no. Stations list shall appear/display in drop down menu. If search is made by train name or station name, the system will seek your PNR for verification purposes before confirming the booking.
  • On selecting the station at which meal is to be delivered, vendor menu will open along with item prices.
  • Select the vendor and then select the meals to be booked. Prices of meal will be displayed alongside.
  • On placing the order, the passenger will be required to select the mode of payment i.e. Cash on Delivery or prepaid (online payment).Thereafter, confirmation of booking is to be made.

HOW CAN I BOOK MEALS THROUGH PHONE?

Passenger may book meals by calling number 1323 for waitlisted as well as confirmed ticket. The booking shall be made by the call center executive

HOW CAN I BOOK MEAL THROUGH THE MOBILE APPLICATION?

The Food on track App is available on IOS and Android. Please download the Mobile App Food on Track from the Google Play Store or App Store.

HOW IS THE CONFIRMATION OF THE BOOKING DONE?

On completion of transaction, SMS and email shall be generated and sent to the customer as well as the service provider. The SMS and email shall have the details of the order. The SMS content to passenger shall have an OTP (One Time Password) which will be used for verification by the service provider on the mobile application at the time of delivery of meal.

WILL I GET BOOKED MEAL, IF MY TRAIN GETS DELAYED?

Yes, the train shall be monitored and food will be delivered if the train reaches the delivery station within service timing; i.e. between 0600-2200 hrs. However, the passenger, if he so desires, can cancel the meal as per the terms and conditions.But in case a train is running late, and reaches the meal delivery station beyond the service time; the delivery of meal is not guaranteed by IRCTC. In such case, if food is not delivered to passenger, full refund (in case of prepaid) shall be made after deducting bank charges

Payment options available for making a booking are as under:-

While travelling in 12285 train on 05/05/2022 in B4 couch vide pnr no 4129822924 without noticing that my ticket was included pantry charges, I have once again booked food online vide order I’d 1000033425 under wallet ref no 40220986149 for rs 1179/-.Thus twice I have paid catering charges. I request you to refund the charges for which I have paid twice.

  3. Dear Team, yesterday we paid and book the catering service and we selected the place of station “Shornur”, But your team did not deliver food. This is very bad.
